Drink of the month: Captain Infamous, August 2020

August is always an emotional time, for many of us the summer is coming to a close and the autumn is drawing in. With it, the temperature drops and we adapt our food and drink accordingly. Fruity, ice-cold rum cocktails are often swapped for something brown, be it a hot drink or a whisky.

In an ode to the summer, our drink of the month for August is exactly what you would expect. A beautiful blend of dark rum, balanced with tart fruit purees and sweet brown sugar.

This cocktail again comes from Greek professional bartender, @jr.bartender, and features two of our newest additions to the fruity mix range, ODK Blood Orange Puree and ODK Mandarin Puree, as well as our unique 100% Sicilian Lemon Juice.

Named Captain Infamous, we can guarantee this a drink that you will remember for some time and the perfect accompaniment to a hot summer’s day – so if you are lucky enough to have any hot weather remaining, or perhaps you are in the southern hemisphere and the summer is just around the corner, then grab your ODK, some rum and some ice and get your shake on. You won’t regret it.

Recipe

50 ml Black Tears Spiced Rum
25 ml ODK Blood Orange Puree
25 ml ODK Mandarin Puree
15 ml ODK 100% Lemon Juice
2 Bar Spoons Brown Sugar
Ginger Ale For Top Up

Method

Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice cubes and shake. Double strain the mixture into a tiki mug with crushed ice, garnish with a mint spring, a straw, express the tincture & enjoy responsibly.
