Drink of the month: A Hint of Basil, September 2019
Our next drink of the month is a mocktail that can be enjoyed at all times of the year, although we could imagine sipping on this sitting outside in a botanical garden! It is also free of any fizz for all you CO2 haters out there.
This drink emanates notes of basil, orange and cucumber – which makes it feel refreshing and natural. This is why we could imagine drinking it surrounded by nature as the aroma of the ODK Basil syrup and slices of cucumber enter your nostrils.
If you are more into your cocktails we are sure you could add a little gin to this and it would be just as good.
ODK Basil Syrup is one of our more unique flavours and an aroma and taste we love a lot in Italy. You need to be creative with your flavours to find the best accompaniment for this syrup, although as you will find if you try our drink of the month for September – it combines nicely with orange and a touch of lime.
Anyway, that’s enough talking. Let’s get down to the best bit, the tasting. Here is the recipe:
A Hint of Basil
- 20 ml ODK 100% Lime juice
- 10 ml ODK White Sugar syrup
- 50 ml Orange juice
- 15 ml ODK Basil syrup
- 30 ml Still water
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker and dry shake (no ice). Pour the contents into an ice-filled collins glass. Garnish with a cucumber slice, orange peel and lemon peel.
